**Jeff Halcomb - Instructor**
I can genuinely say that being a firearms instructor brings me immense joy as I help individuals acquire the skills needed to safely handle and shoot a pistol, whether it be for sport or personal protection.
Shooting has been a passion of mine since I was around 11 years old. I proudly served three years in the U.S. Army, where I was trained as a diesel mechanic at Fort Knox, Kentucky, and subsequently spent 2 1/2 years in Mannheim, Germany, working on tanks and various military equipment.
My passion for educating others on the safe handling of firearms ignited a few years ago when a friend encouraged me to enroll in a Range Safety Officer (RSO) course at the Volusia County Gun Club. This experience prompted friends and family to approach me for guidance in their shooting endeavors. My wife played a crucial role in my transformation into an instructor, motivating me to follow this path after I successfully taught her how to shoot. She recognized my calm and effective teaching style, which inspired me to obtain firearm certifications that equipped me to prepare new gun owners as well as those seeking a refresher course on gun safety and shooting techniques, such as safely moving into concealed carry.
